This was part of my etching final project, a series of dual-plate self portraits. I used the same face plate (dry point etching) but a different hair plate (hard ground etchings) for each one, chronicling the different hair styles and colors I’ve had over the last year. The hair color is hand painted using the leftover hair dye I had actually used. (click through for bigger)

Hey guys! As you may know, I’ve been really digging making linoleum block cuts/prints lately, but paper/blocks/ink tends to empty out my wallet pretty quick, so I’m selling some little things I’ve made. Anything I make from this will go back into supplies for making art and prints and you can feel good about helping me make art (and not have to worry about me buying cheap bottom shelf wine with it).
There’s a bunch of Pokemon, the original ink drawings I made for the Amelie block prints and a 2ft x 2ft loose canvas of the Serenity emblem. Have at it!

Though right now is not my finest hour, here is a follow up to this drawing I did when I was realizing I’d be moving to New York.
So, right, I’m moving back to North Carolina to finish my degree (finally, right?), and I am very sad. And also very busy and stressed out. If you’re in the area and I haven’t invited you yet, I’m having a little shindig next weekend and you should come.

I started drawing this around 1:30am and then couldn’t stop (it’s now 3:00am). I don’t know where it came from, but it probably has something to do with the new Metroid game.

I’ve been meaning to draw this for a while… This is a pretty accurate depiction of what I see when I look at a candle without my contacts/glasses. I’m not really sure if that’s normal or bad or what, but light has pretty much always looked like this to me. And it’s always the same pattern, those same spikes in those same places and kinda looks like a chrysanthemum in the middle.
Anyway. That’s what I see. I hope there are other people who see it like that too.

When I get stuck on a project or a drawing, I almost always doodle Harry Potter characters — rarely any of the main characters though. Here’s some James & Lily.

Piet Mondrian mural! I painted this on Derek’s wall in about 5 hours. Quite happy, though it needs some touching up.
